The flood had destroyed many belongings of those effected, some only managed to save guard small personal items and had to leave the rest for the mercy of the flood. I could only imagine the grieve they must have gone through leaving all those things they've been collecting for so many years behind.
Although the floods had taken away and destroyed so many things, the people here are tough, they stayed strong. As soon as it was save to go to the properties, the clean up began. We Queenslanders weren't going to let those effected do it alone, people from all around came to help their friends, neighbours and just about anyone who needed help.

We are the lucky ones. Your photos show howterrible it was.
Your photos are heartbreaking. So glad you were OK. Great post...there are so many good people out there. I'll pass this along.
Great photos, theyr early show how much was affected. I'm glad that Queenslanders have stayed strong!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. :-) Yes, I did make it to Brisbane near the end of my trip, but only long enough to drive through on my way to the airport. I got stranded near Warwick with the flooding and couldn't get anywhere for a while. I loved Queensland though, and hope to move there sometime this year. :-) I'm still in awe of my friends who suffered so much damage from the floods, yet never failed to keep their chin up. You Aussies are a lovely lot. :-)
owh thanks guys for your concern. things are getting much better here. Fingers cross things will be back to normal to those affected in no time
